01 · A letter from the kitchen

If you’ve watched Food for Stories, you’ve already stepped inside this kitchen. This is the table where Dermot Whelan, Colleen Nolan, Dara Ennis, Garren Noone and the Polish Ambassador to Ireland sat down to cook, laugh and share their stories. Now, it’s your turn.

This isn’t a cooking class. It isn’t a guided tour. It isn’t a performance.

It’s an invitation to spend a few hours around a kitchen table—cooking, chatting, tasting and connecting with people you may have only just met. In a world that’s becoming increasingly digital, genuine human connection matters more than ever. The Chocolate Lodge was created as a place where food starts conversations, strangers become friends and everyone leaves with a story.

Cook alongside me if you’d like, or simply relax with a coffee, a glass of Prosecco, sparkling water or juice while we chat around the table.

Come for the stories. Stay for the conversation. Leave with memories.

The heart of it is simple.

We don’t need a reason to connect. The truth is, we’re all neighbours in this world. We all have stories to tell, meals to share and something to learn from one another. The Chocolate Lodge is my little reminder of that. A place where strangers gather around a kitchen table, share good food, laugh together and leave feeling a little less like strangers.

Kasha Maren

Chocolatier. Home cook. Pioneer of Ireland’s chocolate movement, and host of Food for Stories, where guests have gathered around this kitchen table to cook, laugh and share their stories.

Believer that the world needs a little more of what we used to have. Calling into a neighbour’s house. Sharing what you’ve just baked. Pulling up another chair at the table.
